Getting started
What is hashr?+
hashr turns your computer's idle power into Bitcoin. It runs quietly in the background, automatically mines the most profitable coin your hardware supports, converts it to Bitcoin, and pays it straight to a wallet you control.
You keep 99% of what you mine — our fee is a flat 1%, paid straight to your own wallet.
How do I start?+
Download the app for Mac or Windows, create a free account, add your device with the code from your dashboard, paste in your Bitcoin payout address, and press Start. That's it — hashr handles the rest.
Which computers does it work on?+
Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows. hashr auto-detects your CPU and every GPU, benchmarks them, and mines the most profitable coin on each.
Payouts & Bitcoin
When and how do I get paid?+
Your earnings auto-convert to Bitcoin and are paid directly to your own wallet once you cross the payout threshold (0.00075 BTC). hashr is fully non-custodial — we never hold your coins.
Why haven't I been paid yet?+
Payouts trigger automatically at the 0.00075 BTC threshold; until then your balance accrues. Mine at least once every few months so a small balance doesn't expire — we'll warn you well before it would.
Do I need my own Bitcoin wallet?+
Yes. Because hashr is non-custodial, you set the BTC address your payouts go to — any wallet works (hardware, mobile, or an exchange). You can change it anytime from your dashboard.
Fees
What does hashr cost?+
hashr's fee is a flat 1% — the same you'd pay mining direct on a pool — and it's paid straight to your own Bitcoin wallet. You keep 99% of what you mine.
Are there any hidden fees?+
hashr's fee is a flat 1%, shown upfront — there's no separate withdrawal fee, account fee, or surprise charge from us, and your Bitcoin is paid straight to your own wallet.
Safety & antivirus
Is hashr safe?+
Yes. Every release is virus-scanned before it ships, the app runs only after you give explicit consent, and it's non-custodial — your Bitcoin is always paid to a wallet only you control.
My antivirus flagged hashr — why?+
Mining software is sometimes flagged as a 'potentially unwanted application' simply because mining can be misused when installed on someone's machine without consent. hashr only ever runs when you choose to, on hardware you own — so it's safe to allow. The in-app 'Antivirus flagging hashr?' link has step-by-step instructions for your system.
Will hashr mine without my permission?+
Never. Mining only runs after you accept the consent screen and press Start, and you can stop it at any time.
Your devices
Can I mine on more than one computer?+
Yes. Add as many devices as you own to a single account — they all pay into the same Bitcoin payout address.
How are payout addresses handled across devices?+
One active payout address per account, shared across every device. Change it in your dashboard and all of your devices pick up the new address automatically.
Performance
Will hashr slow down my computer or drain my battery?+
You're in control. Choose Low while you're using the machine (barely noticeable), up to Turbo when you're away and plugged in. hashr is designed to stay out of your way.
Does closing the window stop mining?+
On desktop, closing the window keeps hashr mining quietly in the tray / menu bar. Choose 'Quit hashr' from the tray menu to stop completely.
Referrals
Can I invite friends to hashr?+
Yes — your dashboard has a personal invite link. Share it and your friend lands on a quick setup page. We don't have a paid referral program at the moment; it's simply the easiest way to get someone started.
Account & support
How do I stop or uninstall hashr?+
Press Stop anytime, quit from the tray, or uninstall the app like any other. Any accrued balance stays with the pool until it reaches the payout threshold.
